Clear Structures specialises in the creation of eye-catching glass designs for the frontage of retail outlets. With experience ranging from large out of town retail parks, to smaller city centre outlets and the structural renovation of listed prestige retail space, our team offers a full range of services to the retail sector.

The more challenging the project, the better. Our team designed large retrofitted glass facades at Birmingham’s Mailbox Shopping Centre to control high wind velocities within the existing mall. With the requirements for virtual frameless glazing in modern shopping malls, today’s design concepts have pushed the envelope in shop front design. Glass facades topping 8m, with restricted support conditions, are increasingly common. This means that when a retail architect or glazing contractor is proposing to develop a shopping mall unit, it is critical that they correctly interpret the design limitations imposed by the mall designer. Clear Structures can provide a complete in-house engineered design service to the architect, main contractor or glazing contractor to provide them with a complete shop front design package.

Clear Structures has designed numerous bespoke shop fronts, including Mango’s flagship Oxford Street store and 18 different shop fronts within Westfield's White City development. We are also providing advice on design parameters for the development of the internal shop front units for Westfield’s Stratford shopping developments.

As well as solutions for new shop front structures, Clear Structures is also heavily involved in providing engineered glass design solutions for remedial and alteration works to existing shop front facades. We can also provide design services for balustrades, external cladding to lift shafts and bespoke display features.
