Ashmolean Museum
The “grand stairwell” to the central atrium includes stair flights with tapered glass balustrades structurally designed by Clear Structures for Lee Warren Fabrication Design Limited.
The balustrades consist of clamped glass panels secured to hidden cantilevered steel work within the solid sections of the staircase.
Clear Structures also carried out the structural design of the glass smoke screens, external balustrading and the “glass box” from which the Queen opened the Museum in December 2009.
